Sample 2012 Itinerary

DAY 1 — HOMETOWN / LIMA
P.M. Depart on flight from your hometown to Lima, Peru.
Met upon arrival at Lima Airport.

DAY 2 — LIMA / IQUITOS / EXPLORAMA LODGE
Connect with flight to Iquitos, Peru.
Transfer via open-air bus to City Market.
Board boat for Explorama Lodge for first hike in the Amazon Rainforest.
Optional Night Walk or Boat Outing each night.
Overnight Explorama Lodge.

DAY 3 — EXPLORAMA LODGE
Optional Birding each morning - walking or by boat.
A.M. Culture & Craft Fair.
P.M.  "Rainforest Cultures" - Local Guide. Trading with the Yagua.
Field Visits to the Amazon Library & Clinic
Overnight Explorama Lodge.

DAY 4 — EXPLORAMA LODGE / EXPLORNAPO LODGE
Board boat for trip to ExplorNapo Lodge.
A.M. Visit ReNuPeRu Ethnobotanical Garden with Shaman Guillermo
P.M.  River Exploration in search of Dolphins.  Fishing for Piranha.
Overnight ExplorNapo Lodge.

DAY 5 — EXPLORNAPO LODGE
Village Service Project Day
Overnight ExplorNapo Lodge.

DAY 6 — EXPLORNAPO / AMAZON CONSERVATORY FOR TROPICAL STUDIES
A.M. Visit to Black Water Lake to see Giant Lily pads and.Hoatzin birds.
P.M. Transfer to ACTS to visit the Canopy Walkway for Sunset Views.
Night hike to view the Bioluminescent Fungus patch.
Overnight Amazon Conservatory for Tropical Studies (ACTS).

DAY 7 — AMAZON CONSERVATORY FOR TROPICAL STUDIES
A.M. Rainforest Explorations.
Noon - Visit a Leafcutter Ant Colony.
P.M. Rainforest Canopy Research.
Overnight Amazon Conservatory for Tropical Studies (ACTS)

DAY 8 — ACTS / CEIBA TOPS RESORT
Visit the Canopy Walkway at dawn and A.M. in the Rainforest.
Transfer by boat to Ceiba Tops.
Wrap-Up Activities & Closing Ceremony.
Overnight Ceiba Tops Resort.

DAY 9 — CEIBA TOPS RESORT / IQUITOS / LIMA AIRPORT
Morning reflections. Visit Monkey Island & Giant Ceiba Tree.  
P.M.  Depart Iquitos for Lima. Connect with flight back to the USA.
Note: Most will take overnight flights and arrive home on DAY 10.

DAY 10 — A.M. ARRIVAL IN THE U.S.

Each day we have the option of early morning birding – walking or by boat.  Every evening we have the option of a night hike or boating in search of night creatures.  The itinerary and sequence of these activities may vary slightly with each expedition program.
